Clarkes Centra Supermarket at Barna
This is a large supermarket located on the right side of main coast road driving from Galway to Spiddal. Large selection of produce, Hot & Cold deli and butchers counter, fresh vegtables, large selection of wines and full 'Off Licence'. Small bakery for fresh rolls and breads, scones and some cakes and tarts available daily.

Guests Travelling to spiddal may wish to avail of Centra's telephone order service - Phone in your order in advance and as you pass through Barna (en route to Spiddal Holiday Homes) collect your provisions at the cash desk. Offers many excellent seafood specialities and has full bar licence. Food orders from 12.30pm - 9.30pm (doors close 11.30pm). Evening diners would be advised to book a table in advance

Beaches

Galway has seven Blue Flag Beaches - bathing areas which meet international criteria for clean water, freedom from pollution, safe access, sanitary facilities, lifeguards, wheelchair access and information centres. Four of Galway's Blue Flag beaches are located along the Connemara Coast road - Silver Strand near Salthill, Tra na mBan in Spiddal (located approx. 1 mile from cottages), Tra Ban in Inverin and Tra an Doilin in Carraroe. Others are Kilmurvey on the Aran Islands, Tracht in Kinvara and Lough Rea Lake, Loughrea.

There are lots of other attractive, clean and safe beaches in Connemara - just head down your nearest boithrin and see what you find!

Leisureland

For those days when the weather is not so kind, all the family can have fun at Leisureland in Salthill. Try the thrilling 65m Waterslide, the Tropical Beach Pool and Treasure Cove or enjoy the main 25m pool.

Leisureland also offer an amusement park and an outdoor playground and a poolside restaurant.

Ceardlann an Spideil / The Spiddal Craft Village

The Spiddal Craft Village is an attractive complex of traditional style cottages, ideally located opposite the beach and overlooking Galway Bay. Visitors may watch the handcrafts being produced and purchase products that are not generally available in the usual tourist outlets and craft stores.

The Craft Village was established in 1984 and three of the original artisans still feature among the present day tenants. These are:

The other present day craftspeople at the centre are:

There is also an art gallery and a restaurant "Bistro Jackie" which offers a wide range of home cooked food.
